Job Summary:
The Underwriter will be responsible for supporting Community Minerals’ acquisition strategy by assisting in technical evaluations, production forecasting, and economic analyses to assess acquisition opportunities, primarily for marketed deals. This entry-level position is designed to build foundational underwriting experience through structured tasks and close mentorship.
The Underwriter is initially assigned to smaller and less complex marketed deals to develop competency and demonstrate technical accuracy. Progression to larger responsibilities is performance-based, as this role proves readiness to handle more complex evaluations.
Job Description:
Assist in analyzing oil and gas production data from conventional and unconventional reservoirs.
Support decline curve analysis and reserve estimations under supervision.
Contribute to economic models by preparing valuation inputs and reviewing market data.
Summarize regulatory filings and well-level documentation to aid in technical assessments.
Work with the Reserves Team to ensure consistency and accuracy in deal evaluations.
Support the Underwriting Closing Team with documentation and process readiness.
Focus on smaller and less complex marketed deals, ensuring technical accuracy while building foundational experience.
Work under close supervision, following structured processes and established evaluation methods.
Participate in training and team discussions in a supporting capacity, continuously developing technical and analytical capabilities.
Follow defined underwriting standards and contribute to consistent process execution across the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geosciences, Energy Economics, or a related field.
0–2 years of relevant experience in reserves evaluation, production analysis, or technical research.
Familiarity with decline curve analysis, production data, and basic economic modeling.
Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn technical underwriting tools.
Good communication and collaboration skills in a remote setup.
Demonstrated alignment with organizational values and a commitment to skill development.
